WESTFIELD TWP. – The Cloverleaf girls basketball team, in cooperation with Cloverleaf Junior Achievement, raised $3,000 in memory of 2005 Cloverleaf High School graduate Lauren Ramey, who passed away in October after a courageous battle with cancer. The fundraiser will benefit her son, Alikay Ramey-Wilson.
The funds were raised in a foundation basketball game held Nov. 19 in the new Cloverleaf High School gymnasium. A foundation game is an extra game Ohio High School Athletic Association teams are permitted to play outside their normal schedule, often for a charitable cause. Lauren was a three-sport athlete at Cloverleaf, participating in basketball, volleyball and softball.
Junior Achievement is a not-for-profit, student-led organization whose mission is to raise funds through various sales, marketing activities and fundraisers, which are donated to Cloverleaf families in need and local charitable organizations.
